Pensacola Chamber names interim president and CEO
Former Pensacola Mayor Jerry Maygarden has been named interim president and CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.
A Pensacola native, Maygarden is a former city councilman who also served in the Florida House of Representatives, including a stint as House majority leader. He was president and CEO for the Baptist Health Care Foundation and served as a senior administrator and chief development officer for the Baptist Medical System.
“The Chamber is an exceptional organization and I plan to work collaboratively with the board and staff to build on its success,” Maygarden said.
He replaces outgoing President and CEO Jim Hizer, who is set to leave on Aug. 21. Maygarden will be in the post for up to 120 days, after which the Chamber expects to find a permanent CEO.
