Behavioral Health Outpatient Services Opens for University Students
Capital Regional Medical Center fills a void in the Tallahassee Market
Capital Regional Behavioral Health Center has opened Outpatient Services for university and college students, providing additional psychiatric services to young adults in the area.
Behavioral-health–specific facilities are a need in Tallahassee and the surrounding communities.
One-out-of-every-four Americans experience a diagnosable mental illness or substance abuse every year.
Capital Regional Behavioral Health Center – University Services will offer an Intensive Outpatient Program to meet this demand.
The Intensive Outpatient Program includes 12 hours per week of therapeutic group activities, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Dual Diagnosis Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Educational Group Therapy
- Medication Management
“Behavioral health treatment has come a long way, but just as with other diseases, psychiatric disorders have episodic flare-ups that require intervention and follow-up,” said Alan Keesee, Chief Executive Officer at Capital Regional Medical Center. “With our new Outpatient Services, geared towards students we have more opportunities to ensure our patients receive the care they need, when and where they need it.”
