Tallahassee Magazine and 850 Business Magazine Honored With Statewide Awards

Tallahassee Magazine and 850 Business Magazine have been honored with two statewide awards from the Society of Professional Journalists — the only magazines from Northwest Florida to win recognition.

 

The Sunshine State Awards contest is sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists – Florida and honors quality journalism throughout the state. The award winners were announced on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014.

  •  850 — The Business Magazine of Northwest Florida took second place in the Trade/Special Interest Magazine category. The award recognized the work done by Editor Linda Kleindienst, RPI Creative Director Larry Davidson and designer Lizzie Moore and Scott Holstein.
  • Tallahassee Magazine earned a second place award for Best Single Issue, the September/October 2013 “Issue of Health Care” magazine that focused on health care issues in the Tallahassee area. Honored were Editor Rosanne Dunkelberger, Creative Director Larry Davidson and staff.

 

This year SPJ partnered with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ South Florida chapter to include Spanish-language awards for the first time.

Rowland Publishing Inc. publishes 850, Tallahassee Magazine, Forgotten Coast Magazine and EC Magazine, along with several specialty projects, including publications for Visit Tallahassee and Choose Tallahassee.
