Google Workshop for Small Businesses in Pensacola

Google Workshop for Small Businesses in Pensacola set for Jan. 13

The Greater Pensacola Chamber and The Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida will hold a one-hour, no-cost Google Tools for Your Small Business workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Greater Pensacola Chamber, 117 W. Garden St.

Google offers small business marketers a number of online tools to help manage and enhance their online presence. Businesses wanting to improve marketing efforts through Google Maps, Google Places for Business, Google+, Google Ad Words, Alerts or Analytics are encouraged to attend this class. During the workshop, businesses will learn how to utilize Google Maps, track website visits, research keywords, find relevant articles and manage the brand online.

The workshop will be taught by Kelly Massey, regional director for the Florida SBDC at UWF. He has partnered with Google in the Let’s Put our Cities on the Map project to help customers locate local businesses. “When we put small businesses on the map, we help our community find, share and connect with local business owners they want to support,” Massey said. “This workshop is a proactive approach to assist businesses that want to better market their products and services.”

After the training, business owners will receive hands-on instruction from a Florida SBDC consultant. Pre-registration is recommended since seating is limited. To register, call (850) 474-2528 or visit the Florida SBDC at UWF’s website at www.sbdc.uwf.edu and click on Training Opportunities in Pensacola.
