Ameris Bank Fights Hunger with New Campaign

Ameris Bank has joined with other businesses and organizations committed to combatting hunger in the Tallahassee area.

This fall, Ameris Bank aligned its Helping Fight Hunger campaign with the 2K Club food-raiser, a project of America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend, which distributes more than seven million pounds of food to deserving recipients each year. That total includes food received from national manufacturers and donations of food made by local residents and organizations.

Ameris was a principal sponsor of the 2K Club project. In September, the bank supported the 2K Club with a contribution of $2,500. (Membership in the club is achieved by any combination of food and funds totaling 2K.) Throughout October, the bank’s downtown Tallahassee location served as a collection point for non-perishable food items. More than 11,300 food items and $1,341 in monetary donations were collected from the community and turned over to Second Harvest.

Proceeds of the 2K Club campaign will help ensure that no one in Tallahassee and the Big Bend region goes hungry this holiday season.
